Obama’s Failed Attemp to Cut FOX News Out

This latest assault on Free Speech by the President of the United States has crossed the line. Even the mainstream media has decided they cannot play along with this one.  As President Obama attempts to Fundamentally Transform  America, citizens of this country have witnessed the hard and fast measures [by this president] to take over their lives.  Over the last few weeks, Obama has waged war on FOX News.  President Obama cannot accept the way FOX News reports the truth. He has made it clear that he does not want Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly,etc to report the facts behind his Czars, Valerie Jarret,  Rham Emaneul,  Anita Dunn or anyone else he has ties to. Obama said FOX News is not real news and he tries to divert attention away from a media outlet who dares to deliver opposing views which are nothing more than a presentation of the facts.

Here is the breakdown:

The White House Press Pool consists of all five of the major news outlets – ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and FOX News, who are organized by the White House Correspondents Association(membership is not subject to oversight by the government).  The purpose of the pool is to streamline the coverage of the White House. They share the cost and duties of daily coverage of the White House. Essentially, the five networks take turns being responsible for the coverage and share the information with their sister media outlets.

On Thursday, the White House made “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg available for interviews to the Press Pool. The exception was that Fox News would not have access to interview Mr. Feinberg.  This marks the first time in history that an administration had attempted to ban an entire network from the press pool.

What turned out to be an upset to the White House, the four remaining News organizations told President Obama, “No thanks.” The stance they took was that if FOX News was barred from the interview, then they too, would refuse to participate.

Ultimately, the administration caved and made the pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg available to FOX News.

Perhaps the mainstream media sees the writing on the wall.  Perhaps they recognize that President Obama wants to control everyone and everything in this country. Perhaps the journalists at ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and the like actually do believe in the First Amendment right of Free Speech.

Ask any journalist or journalism major why they chose to pursue the field and you will most likely hear the same answer:  “I want to make a difference.”  Well, when Obama is in the driver’s seat, the only difference these people can make is the one he dictates.  It looks like they are starting to get it!

In the meantime, FOX News ratings continue to increase. Obama’s actions are  pushing people to search for the truth. Americans are beginning to question the information they are being fed by mainstream media and they are turning to FOX News for real reporting

THINK:  Obama insists on surrounding himself with only “yes men.” Anyone who does not agree with his views on healthcare reform, cap & tax, ACORN, czars, Afghanistan, executive’s pay, etc, is not invited to the table.  Barack Obama wants to FUNDAMENTALY TRANSFORM this country and he will wipe out anyone who dares to step in his way.  The fact that the mainstream media stood in opposition to the demand for exclusion of a fellow media outlet speaks volumes.

AMERICA:  There is hope! We must continue to press our representatives in Congress. We must continue to voice our outrage to our local and national media. Our voices are being heard! The mainstream media could not have taken this stand if they did not believe the American people would demand the truth. They know we will seek the truth and if FOX News is the only outlet reporting it, that’s where we will go.

Here is the transcript of an exchange between ABC News Senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper and President Obama’s White House Press Secretary Robert Gates on October 20, 2009:

Tapper: It’s escaped none of our notice that the White House has decided in the last few weeks to declare one of our sister organizations “not a news organization” and to tell the rest of us not to treat them like a news organization. Can you explain why it’s appropriate for the White House to decide that a news organization is not one –

(Crosstalk)

Gibbs: Jake, we render, we render an opinion based on some of their coverage and the fairness that, the fairness of that coverage.

Tapper: But that’s a pretty sweeping declaration that they are “not a news organization.” How are they any different from, say –

Gibbs: ABC -

Tapper: ABC. MSNBC. Univision. I mean how are they any different?

Gibbs: You and I should watch sometime around 9 o’clock tonight. Or 5 o’clock this afternoon.

Tapper: I’m not talking about their opinion programming or issues you have with certain reports. I’m talking about saying thousands of individuals who work for a media organization, do not work for a “news organization” — why is that appropriate for the White House to say?

Gibbs: That’s our opinion.

Obama Connection to Limbaugh-NFL Story

Rush Limbaugh was denied the opportunity to participate in the purchase of the National Football League’s St. Louis Rams, earlier this month. The reasons cited for his dismissal from the group included statements from Limbaugh’s Wikipedia profile, which have since been proven false, along with his strong conservative political views.  The conservative talk radio show host was viciously attacked in an effort to prevent him from pursuing his dream of ownership of a football franchise.  Rush may have been onto something when he told his listeners he believed there is an “ongoing effort by the left in this country … to destroy conservatism, to prevent the mainstreaming of anyone who is prominent as a conservative.”

Rush Limbaugh described the order of events for his audience and painted a very grim picture of where this country is headed. Rush said he was approached about joining a group of investors who would make a bid to buy the St. Louis Rams. In the talks, Rush confirmed the group understood what they were getting involved in by asking him to participate. He was assured there would be no problem and Dave Checketts the man who invited Rush to join the group even told him, “…I wouldn’t have approached you if I hadn’t taken care of that [firestorm].  I would not have even come and asked you to be part of the group if I had not cleared your involvement with people at the highest levels of the National Football League.”  With that, Rush agreed to participate in the bid.

Evidently, Mr. Checketts did not expect the recently appointed NFL Players Association Director, DeMaurice Smith, to send a letter to the Commissioner strongly objecting to Limbaugh’s involvement in team ownership. In an email to the union’s executive committee Smith had this to say:

 ”I’ve spoken to the Commissioner [Roger Goodell] and I understand that this ownership consideration is in the early stages. But sport in America is at its best when it unifies, gives all of us reason to cheer, and when it transcends. Our sport does exactly that when it overcomes division and rejects discrimination and hatred.”

You know the rest of the story… Rush was removed from the group and denied the opportunity to pursue his dream because of lies and misinformation.

 So, you have to ask: Who is DeMaurice Smith? Why does he have this opinion of Rush Limbaugh to the point that he would not talk with him about the controversy?

 Here is the breakdown:

• DeMaurice Smith, a Washington laywer.
• Served as counsel to Attorney General Eric Holder
• Member of Barack Obama’s transition team
• No experience in professional sports

THINK:  A former Obama official and political ally is chosen to head an organization (union) that controls a lot of money. When an ideological opponent expresses interest in the organization, he is slandered and prevented from pursuing his dream.

Why is this important to average Americans?

The NFL’s collective bargaining agreement with the players will expire soon.  If they don’t reach a new deal, the salary cap will be gone.  The owners could lock out the players and force a work stoppage. This is certainly not what the players want. 

THINK:  Ownership of an NFL franchise is ownership of a business in America.  NFL teams (like any other business) are regulated to a certain extent by the federal government. Now the Executive Director of the NFL Players Association is lead by a man who is tied directly to the White House.  DeMaurice Smith has made it known that if he has to, he will bring the White house into the conversation. He will bring the Congressional Black Caucus into it, too.

 If you believe the incident between Rush Limbaugh and the NFL is no big deal and does not affect you, think again.  This is proof the left will stop at nothing to demonize, stigmatize and discredit those who oppose them. The ultimate goal is to silence the opposition and they will stop at nothing to accomplish that.

 DeMaurice Smith is a former Obama official and political ally. He was chosen by the NFLPA specifically for his political value and connections to the White House. Smith has directly attacked an ideological opponent and supported the lies against him.

 If you are still not convinced, take this recent episode with Rush Limbaugh and put it in the back of your mind. 

 Now, remember President Obama’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Czar, Mark Lloyd.  This is the man who has stated the he finds aspects of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez consolidation of power in his country admirable.  He has written of the need to tighten regulations on the commercial radio market.  Lloyd has written that Private news-media organizations are destroying American democracy because they do not equally and adequately inform the public.  He hails government as “the only mechanism that can help us improve our society.”

 Here is a statement from Mark Lloyd that sums up his disdain for the First Amendment:

“It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press. This freedom is all too often an exaggeration. At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies.

“[T]he purpose of free speech is warped to protect global corporations and block rules that would promote democratic governance.”

So, here we are…Another day, another example of the division that is taking place in this country.  Another day, another controversial issue that ultimately has ties to Barack Obama.  Never has this country seen one man who so passionately seeks to destroy it.  Barack Obama promised to FUNDAMENTALY TRANSFORM America and it appears as though he will stop at nothing to keep that promise.

Freedom of Speech – Only if You Agree with the Government

One of the country’s leading health insurance providers alerts their Medicare Advantage patients to changes that will take place if President Obama’s healthcare reform plan is signed into law. The government forces the company to stop communicating the message to their customers. This is yet another assault on the first amendment by this administration.

In a letter mailed to Medicare Advantage health insurance plan customers, Chief Medical Officer of Humana Medicare, Philip Painter, M.D. seeks to present the reality of the government plan. Dr. Painter begins by acknowledging that many customers have questions about the plan purposed by President Obama and these customers have asked for ways to get involved to protect Medicare Advantage.  He goes on to identify a program Humana has developed to deliver information regarding the reform and asks for customers’ input.

Dr. Parker offers customers the option to join the Partner program via a postage-paid mailer and “join more than 50,000 Humana Medicare Advantage members who are receiving information about this issue and learning how to get involved to protect your Medicare Health plan coverage.” The second opportunity to have their voices heard is presented in the Chief Medical Officer’s suggestion that customers “Let your Members of Congress know why Medicare Advantage is important to you.”  He goes on to remind Medicare Advantage beneficiaries that Congress is considering significant cuts to the program they are currently enrolled in. Dr. Painter tells customers they can let Congress know why they like the plan they have! 

Dr. Philip Painter concludes his note with the following statement, “Leading health reform proposals being considered in Washington, D.C., this summer include billions in Medicare Advantage funding cuts, as well as spending reductions to original Medicare and Medicaid.” Dr. Painter acknowledges that these programs do need to be made more efficient, but if the proposed funding cuts become law,  “millions of seniors and disabled individuals could lose many of the important benefits and services…”

In keeping with the intimidation tactics of this administration, Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus has declared war on Humana Inc. for daring to criticize his part of the healthcare reform bill.

Senator Baucus has complained to the federal health-care agency, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. “It is wholly inappropriate for insurance companies to mislead seniors regarding any subject—particularly on a subject as important to them, and to the nation, as health-care reform,” Mr. Baucus said in a statement on Monday. “The health-care reform bill we released last week strengthens Medicare and does not cut benefits covered under the Medicare program—and seniors need to know that.”

In response to the Senator’s complaint, the CMS sent a letter to the national health insurer [Humana]ordering it to stop sending out a letter regarding current efforts in Washington, D.C., to reform health care.  CMS claimed the mailer was “misleading and confusing” and told the company it has opened an official probe as to whether the mailer violated laws about how the insurers that manage Advantage plans are allowed to communicate with their customers, as well as other federal statutes.

“This information is misleading and confusing to beneficiaries,” said the letter from Teresa DeCaro, who handles contract administration for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. “Please be advised that we take this matter very seriously and, based upon the findings of our investigation, will pursue compliance and enforcement actions.”

This investigation could lead to hefty fines or the removal of Humana from Medicare Advantage altogether.

The reality is that the Baucus draft legislation slashes $123 billion over the next decade from Medicare Advantage.  The Humana letter correctly notes the cuts that are being proposed. As is usually the case with the Democrats and the truth, Mr. Baucus doesn’t want seniors to be educated about these facts. He is willing to use his enormous power to punish any private company that doesn’t affirm his version of reality. Nearly half of Humana’s yearly revenue comes from Medicare Advantage.  Humana has stated it is complying in full with the CMS investigation. Yesterday, the agency also barred all Advantage insurers from providing similar information to their beneficiaries

Here is the breakdown:

A private health insurance company (who has supported Obamacare) makes the mistake of telling its customers the truth. Said health insurance company provides information for customers to contact their legislators to voice an opinion on the issue.  Senator who is leading the charge for fundamental transformation in this country uses his political clout to strong-arm the CEO of a private company for trying to protect his business. Under the threat of fines and losing contracts, a private insurance company is forced to be silent on the issues that will affect the ability to remain in business.

Humana merely made the mistake of trying to tell seniors the truth about what will happen to their coverage. Now CEO Michael McCallister will be forced to hire a good team of lawyers to defend his actions. Senator Baucus and the Obama Administration are out to make him an example of Humana. The surely will not let up until Humana realizes the error of its ways or is completely destroyed.

THINK:  The government is setting out to ruin a company because its leaders have chosen to tell the truth. The truth is getting in the way of the administration’s plan. The only action the government takes is to shut up the people who dare to speak the truth! This administration has no regard for the 1^st amendment. The only free speech is that which is in line with the government.

Americans Who Oppose Transformation Are Called Violent & Racist

During a press conference today, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi teared up as she warned Americans (who have been voicing their disapproval of the current administration) not to incite violence. Speaker Pelosi stated, “I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw this myself in the late ’70s in San Francisco, this kind of rhetoric. … It created a climate in which violence took place. … I wish we would all curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements and understand that some of the ears that it is falling on are not as balanced as the person making the statements may assume.” Speaker Pelosi is referring to the City Hall murder of gay rights activist Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone in November 1978 — an earth-shattering experience for Bay Area Democrats like the speaker.

National Republican Congressional Chairman, Pete Sessions (Texas), said Pelosi crossed the line when she related the rhetoric of anti-gay protesters in San Francisco in 1978 (the year Harvey Milk, the first openly gay member of the city’s board of supervisors, and his political ally, Mayor George Moscone, were killed by former supervisor Dan White) to that of contemporary conservatives while answering a question about the protests against President Obama’s health-care proposals.

“The Speaker is now likening genuine opposition to assassination. Such insulting rhetoric not only undermines the credibility of her office, but it underscores the desperate attempt by her party to divert attention away from a failing agenda,” Sessions said in a statement. “During one of the most important policy debates of our time, the American people have been completely abandoned by those elected representatives under her control. Voters are justifiably frustrated with Washington, and the Speaker’s verbal assault on voters accomplishes nothing other than furthering her reputation for being wildly out of touch with the American people.”

What evidence does Speaker Pelosi have that would suggest the peaceful demonstrations by Americans who fear the FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION of the United States of America would turn violent? She has none. Her goal here is to SILENCE the opposition!  Nancy Pelosi has accused Town Hall attendees of being un-American. She has said the outrage by Americans is trumped up and not real [Astroturf].  Speaker Pelosi refuses to acknowledge the 9/12 March on Washington. She refuses to acknowledge the ACORN story.

THINK:  This woman is third in line for the presidency of the United States of America and she has the audacity to demand that Americans SHUT UP! This message is directed to the people who are genuinely outraged by the FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION of this country. This is nothing more than a scare tactic to muzzle concerned citizens.

Every day we hear a new story about something that just doesn’t feel right. Sometimes you just can’t figure out what it is that doesn’t fit, but you know something big is happening.

We’ve been hearing a lot of talk about racism lately, too. The accusation that if you don’t agree with an idea or the words of President Obama [or any of his supporters], YOU ARE A RACIST! Of course, it’s not President Obama who makes the charge; it’s all of his surrogates who are saying it. The goal is the same: to silence opposition. This is not a new idea for this president. When you look at Barack Obama’s history as a politician, you see that he simply clears the playing field. He does not want to debate his opponents. He wants to eliminate them.

THINK: Why is it that the only opinion that matters is the opinion of the President and his administration? Why hasn’t President Obama told America that he does not consider his ideological opponents to be racist?

 The division that is taking place in this country right now is absolutely heart breaking! When you think about all that our Founding Fathers stood for as they labored over the creation of the documents that would come to be the backbone of the United States of America, it is truly unbelievable that we are now witnessing the complete destruction of it all. Think about all of the men and women who have fought for our Freedom over the past 220 years. Think of the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice so you and I can remain free citizens of the greatest country in the history of the world!
